Oppidan Data Center
Papillion, NE
A 5 MW, 62,000 sf data center located along the boundary of Papillion, Nebraska, Oppidan Data Center will support businesses and residents’ user-experiences, while bolstering the community’s data infrastructure. Though smaller than traditional data centers, this new facility’s sole purpose is to process time-centric data relating to end-users’ daily common network uses. These faster processing speeds will contribute to reduced latency, less downtime, efficient security responses, as well as smoother calling, browsing, and streaming.
Castle’s scope for the construction of the new facility encompassed electrical trenching and backfill services, as well as the installation of over 80 tons of telecommunication and medium-voltage power vaults. Throughout the trenching process, our crew excavated 6,000 lf of earth for electrical duct banks, telecommunication duct banks, exterior lighting conduit and temporary power feed. The crew also encased the duct banks with concrete, fortifying the vital infrastructure against physical damage, environmental conditions and unsanctioned access.
