OrthoNebraska West Maple Clinic
Omaha, NE
Castle’s $650,000 contract for earthwork and site utilities launched the construction of a new, two-story OrthoNebraska Clinic, part of McCarthy Building Companies’ $13.5 million project. The facility will bring diagnostic services, walk-in care, physical therapy and athletic performance training together under one roof—making it the first of its kind in Northwest Omaha for comprehensive orthopedic care.
This contract marks Castle’s third job with OrthoNebraska, following the initial construction and later expansion of the OrthoNebraska Elkhorn Clinic. Two major differences that set this project apart: the scale of site preparation required to transform an undeveloped greenfield lot into a buildable site and the installation of plumbing systems, including a complete stormwater and sanitary sewer package. For this project, Castle performed 31,000 CY of site grading, removed 21,000 CY of earth, and placed 4,600 CY of backfill. The team also installed a water main and 1,000 LF of private storm sewer pipe.
Located at the corner of N 180th Street and W Maple Road, OrthoNebraska is the first business to begin construction in a new mixed-use development, by the White Lotus Group. The construction site measures 96,000 SF, encompassing the clinic’s 18,500-SF footprint, the surrounding parking lot, sidewalks and greenscape. Constant communication and collaboration with McCarthy’s project management team have enabled Castle to efficiently adapt processes within the tight jobsite area, keeping the project on schedule and within budget. These efforts also laid the groundwork for the success of future construction services.
