This $570,000 civil design-build package supported the development of the 12-story, 170-suite Residence Inn by Marriott in Clayton, Mo. The civil scope included site demolition, earthwork, and installation of sanitary sewer, 460 lf of storm sewer, a fire water main, and 80 lf of domestic water main. Laborers and operators imported and placed 7,200 cy of soil, achieving subgrade elevations. The Midas Construction team opted to pursue a design-build approach, allowing them to work with a trusted site partner to manage civil risk, operate safely and efficiently on the jobsite, and achieve a superior speed to market period.  

Throughout the project lifecycle contained multiple challenges. Located at 8125 Forsyth Blvd—a major, high-traffic intersection—the half-acre jobsite could not accommodate on-site staging or parking. Despite the tight working conditions and Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, the project team successfully executed an effective design-build delivery method, testing the efficacy of our design-build capabilities.
