STLCC Forest Park Transportation Education Center
St. Louis, MO
St. Louis Community College’s new Transportation Education Center at its Forest Park campus centralizes multiple transportation programs in modern facility welcoming more leaners and educators from across the region. New and reworked underground utilities and site infrastructure quietly supports the 79,000-square-foot facility’s advanced labs, driving practice areas, and gathering spaces for students, faculty and community partners.
Working within an active urban campus, the civil construction project team upgraded and expanded critical site systems, empowering the College to focus on teaching and workforce training rather than battling aging infrastructure. The team:
- Sequenced demolition and earthwork to preserve campus access
- Managed erosion and sediment control to protect the surrounding neighborhood
- Performed mass excavation and pad remediation for the new Transportation Center
- Modified existing wet utilities and installed new storm, sanitary and water distribution utilities sized to support the Center’s long-term growth
Hardscape improvements and a new 120-stall, paved parking area also give students and visitors safer, more convenient access to the Center and its adjacent outdoor learning zones.
Offering cutting-edge learning and development opportunities, the STLCC Transportation Education Center is a prime example of how new construction can benefit the St. Louis area. As community builders, we’re here to work with local institutions to support our neighbors today and beyond.
