Project Groot "America's Heartland Packing"
Wright City, MO
Castle completed a $2 million electrical civil subcontract to support the construction of an $800 million beef processing and distribution facility—America’s Heartland Packing. American Foods Group, owner of the processing plant, is building the environmentally and socially responsible facility to advance its efforts in supporting its employees, communities, and the global food system.
Our scope of work for the 775,000 sf facility, included 5,000 lf of medium-voltage, underground electrical duct bank, as well as 12,000 lf of trenching for site lighting and pole bases. To power the plant, teams were required to construct a new substation. The project team's electrical duct bank trenching services enabled the installation of the medium voltage feeds that channel electricity from the site's dedicated substation to the main facility, powering the daily operations at America's Heartland Packing.
While tackling the civil portion of this design-build approach, PayneCrest Electric, Inc. facilitated Castles early involvement in the project lifecycle. Entering the project at the start of the design phase empowered our project team to work proactively by anticipating future construction needs and potential challenges allowing them to more effectively adjust the civil design, alter their approach to various construction processes and efficiently coordinate our services with trade partners.
